An original multidisciplinary theater work based on first-hand experiences of the Congolese refugee community in Syracuse, NY.
There are approximately 200 refugees from the on-going wars in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) that now call Syracuse home. These individuals – victims and perpetrators - represent 12 different tribes sharing a violent past which hangs between them as they live side by side in upstate New York. This community is unique among US-based Congolese refugee communities in its efforts to move past ethnic violence and seek reconciliation and understanding in their new lives in Syracuse.
