DESHIMA is a poetic documentary exploring the history of contact between Japan, Europe and America from the 16th Century to the present. Spanning centuries, continents and cultures and combining theater, dance and visual spectacle, DESHIMA evokes a world at once hilarious and harrowing in which cultural boundaries are being profoundly and inextricably changed.
