LISTEN TO ME: stories of child sexual abuse survivors and those who help them is a 40-minute production produced by KHCC and Ping Chong + Company. Listen to Me directed by Jesca Prudencio (PCC), and written by Jesca Prudencio and Ireen Ninonuevo (KHCC). Therapists from KHCC shared their own stories, and gave voice to the experiences of child survivors who have gone through KHCC’s child sexual abuse prevention and treatment program. The production premiered on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 with two performances. It was presented again at the University Settlement Society of New York on Friday, October 18th with two performances.
On Tuesday, April 15th, 2014 there was a free screening of Listen To Me at Kingsbridge Heights Community Center as part of National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Kingsbridge Heights Community Center’s (KHCC) mission is to build on the strengths of residents in our diverse community, enabling them to effect change and improve the quality of their own lives and those of their families and their community. KHCC’s Child Sexual Abuse Treatment and Prevention Program serves Bronx children and youth, ages 3-21, and their families. All counseling services are completely free.
