Lazarus

 was the first work that Ping Chong created as an independent artist in 1972. The new production will be a deeply personal reflection by Ping Chong on alienation and belonging, the passage of time and the evolution of his artistry.

 is an interdisciplinary, imagistic meditation on the resurrected man, transplanted from its Biblical setting to the surreal, urban purgatory of contemporary New York City.

Lazarus 1972 – 2022

 is an hour-long digital film, inspired by Ping Chong Chong’s earlier theatrical work, 

, part of a series known as The East/West Quartet. Like the original work, 

 connects the present day and the personal with an historical past still being felt today. The film’s narrative weaves personal reflections, music and song, with historical strands, such as the opium war, the building of the railroads across the USA, the murder of Vincent Chin, and the mythical birth of tea, among other things.

Inside/Out…Voices from the Disability Community 

explores the first-hand experiences of seven individuals with disabilities. Called "riveting" with a "wide streak of humor" by The Washington Post, 

 weaves the cast members' individual stories with the history of the disability rights movement in the United States.
